ABOUT CHESTNUT FARM

Growing up in Connecticut just an hour outside of New York City, Leo and Jennifer Castagna always dreamed of wide open spaces and room for their family to roam. In 2020, they decided to chase that dream, leave their hometown of Newtown, Connecticut and venture to Monroe, North Carolina.

Now operating the 12 acre "Hobby Farm" deemed Chestnut Farm (a nod to their Italian surname), they love spending time picking blueberries and figs, tending to their large garden, feeding the chickens and goats, running the land with their mascots Golden Retriever Reef and Great Pyrenees Wyatt in tow, and enjoying the space with their son Leo Nicholas, daughters Cortney and Stephanie, their husbands, and their four grandchildren.

What's going on on the farm?

The farm is busy preparing for blueberry season! The pick-your-own will begin in June and last until the final berries are picked in mid August. While you're here, say hello to the chickens, goats and ducks.

Feel free to pack a picnic basket and enjoy the day!
